Glutathione- The Mother of All Antioxidants

Glutathione is the mother of all antioxidants, why? Because it not only neutralizes the free radicals as an antioxidant but also regulates and enhances the activity of other antioxidants.

Glutathione is a tripeptide molecule, consisting of three amino acids, cysteine, glutamic acid, and glycine. Glutathione is commonly found in two forms; reduced glutathione (GSH) and oxidized glutathione (GSSG). The reduced form of glutathione is a highly active form to neutralize free radicals and reduce oxidative stress in the body.

The ratio of oxidized and reduced forms of glutathione is used to measure oxidative stress in the body. If the body has a high amount of reduced glutathione, it means the body has low oxidative stress. The reduced form of glutathione is an active form, also called L-glutathione.

And if the body has a high amount of oxidized glutathione in the blood, it means that free radicals are excessively present in the body causing high oxidative stress. In this condition, our body reduces glutathione to activate it and fight against free radicals.

What are the Health Benefits of Glutathione?

•    Neutralizes free radicals and reduces oxidative stress in the body

•    Improves the skin tone

•    Lightens the skin and gives a fair complexion

•    Helps the liver in the detoxification process of the body

•    Helps minimize the signs of premature aging

Where To Get Glutathione?

Glutathione is naturally formed in our body, especially in the liver cells. A small amount of glutathione is also present in some foods including spinach and okra.

But dietary glutathione has less absorption rate compared to that we consume through supplements.

To get the maximum antioxidant support and its associated benefits, we need to take a good quality L-glutathione (Liposome Glutathione) supplement. L-Glutathione is the reduced active form of glutathione which is naturally encapsulated in a lipid layer for maximum absorption in the body. This lipid layer naturally gives protection to glutathione to fight free radicals potentially.

Which are the Best Supplements of L-Glutathione in Pakistan?
